Diversity on Stage: A Journey Through Queer(ing) Radboud 2.0

On December 4th, Queer(ing) Radboud 2.0 was held at Theatre C, Elinor Ostrom Building, Radboud University. I attended this event as a writer for Raffia Magazine, but also as a student eager to learn more about queer theory and connect with others who share similar interests.

Queer Joy as a Pedagogical Tool in the “Heartstopper” TV-series

In times of growing intolerance regarding LGBTQ+ individuals, positive forms of media put queer hearts at ease by employing queer representation. A recent example of this is TV-series Heartstopper, based on Alice Oseman’s graphic novels.

Lucien von Römer (1873-1965) was one of the first physicians in the Netherlands whose goal it was to examine the issue of homosexuality from a scientific position. Up until the eighteenth century, homosexuality or ‘sodomy’ had been an ‘unmentionable vice’ in the Netherlands.
